3M™ VHB™ Tape 4950 is a white, 45 mil (1.1 mm) thick firm, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape with a paper liner. This unique combination offers benefits that screws, rivets, welds and other types of mechanical fasteners just can’t match. In many situations, they can replace other permanent fasteners. They are made with acrylic foam which is viscoelastic in nature. This gives the foam energy absorbing and stress relaxing properties which helps provide these tapes with their unique characteristics. Typically used for metal, glass and high surface energy plastic substrates.
